Founder and Research Professor
Alexander Rojas R.
My undergraduate studies (undergraduate studies) are in Political Science and Government from the Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia, with honors; and my Master's degree (MA) in History from the Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia, with cum laude honors. I am currently preparing my PhD candidacy with The Americas' Governments' Stability—TAGS Project. I am a founding member of the Political Observatory of the Americas, where I coordinate research projects, publish political analysis, and tutor theses, as well as inter-institutional relations. As an associate professor at the School of Law and Political Sciences, I direct courses in the Political Science and Government program on State and Constitutional Theory, Global History, and Comparative Studies of the Americas. My current academic and research interests focus on contemporary political history, the State, democracy, and stability of governments in the Americas.

My name is Felipe Caputo, a sixth-semester Political Science student at Universidad El Bosque. I have been a member of the Observatory since November 2021, where I am part of the Central America region team. Additionally, my thesis consists of developing an open-access dashboard that serves as a comparative analysis tool for guerrilla warfare in Colombia. My academic and research interests focus on political history and armed conflict in Colombia.

My name is Estefania Hernández Vargas, a seventh-semester International Relations student at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. I am currently on an international exchange program in the Political Science and Government program at El Bosque University, Bogotá, Colombia. I participated as the finance coordinator for the 12th edition of the UNODC Model. I have written policy and health reports at the Center for Strategic Studies in International Relations of Latin America. My research interests include migration and gender.
